Comodo Internet Security : Free All-Round Protection for Your PC

Their firewall is the undisputed best in it's category, and now Comodo Group have gone a step further by releasing probably the first ever "free" internet security. Comodo Internet Security seamlessly integrates a rock-solid antivirus, the richly featured firewall, and the proactive Defense+ tool into one single killer security app. There is an optional tool as well - SafeSurf - which actively protects you from malicious and dangerous websites on the internet. Comodo Internet Security is a free 24MB download, for Windows Vista / XP users only.

Comodo is also offering a higher version of Comodo IS, namely Comodo IS Pro, which includes an additional tool called TrustConnect. With TrustConnect, you can safely connect to the internet anywhere without fear of data theft. The Pro version also entitles you to receive other facilities like PC tune ups, 24/7 chat support, remote virus removals and remote installations from the Comodo team.

Is keeping Windows Vista under Hibernation OK?

Hibernation

My otherwise awesome laptop is having a horrid startup time.  I've tried practically tried everything in my knowledge to reduce the boot time, but to no effect. Some of my friends are saying this is due to the AMD processor that powers my laptop (a dual core Turion X2 @ 2GHz). As a final solution, I've now started keeping my laptop under hibernation, which has reduced startup time a lot. But is it OK to always hibernate instead of shutting down? Please help me out by posting your comments! :)

Back to Blogging

After what seems to be ages, I've decided to start blogging all over again! As I said in this comment, a lot has happened over these past few months that put me away from this blog; but then a lot of other things have also happened that'll hopefully propel me on to blog better. For one thing, I'm now a Mechanical student at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT-R), and I've my own laptop to boast about. :)

It's a pretty good HP Pavilion model - dv5-1006AX - with this configuration. I further upgraded to Windows Vista Ultimate for about $150, and everything's running great. We've got a pretty good internet connection here at NIT-R, and there are quite a few techies around as well. I've got good resources now, and hopefully we'll be able to interact with each other more frequently and consistently from now on. :)
